Nighthawk Custom Engraved 1911 - "Wall Street"

Nighthawk Custom was proud to present the Wall Street pistol, a true 1-of-1 masterpiece that captured the essence of finance, power, and history. Handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail, this pistol told the storied history of Wall Street and its influence on American society, immortalizing key moments and figures in the financial world through masterful engraving.

On the right side of the pistol, the engravings paid tribute to the origins of Wall Street. At the rear of the slide, a depiction of Petrus Stuyvesant, the governor of the Netherlands, who was inaugurated in 1647, stood prominently. The year 1647 was inlaid in gold, marking the inception of the financial hub that would become the heart of American commerce. The barrel hood was engraved with the embankment wall and protective fence that once stood as a barrier against English soldiers, below which sat the emblem of the Dutch West India Company, a key player in Wall Street’s early days.

Just in front of the ejection port, Stuyvesant—recognizable by his wooden leg—marched alongside his troops past what would later become the Federal Hall. This historical building, where the "Bill of Rights" was passed in the first Congress, was captured in solid 24-carat gold on the slide, anchoring the pistol in America's early constitutional history.

The left side of the pistol opened a window into modern-day Wall Street, beginning with an engraving of Trinity Church, located across from the famed financial district. The words "Wall Street" were emblazoned in gold, with the Charging Bull—a symbol of Wall Street’s financial power—etched in 24-carat gold beside it. The intricate depiction of the New York Stock Exchange, along with traders and fluctuating share prices, captured the high-stakes world of finance. At the rear of the slide, modern Wall Street was depicted with towering skyscrapers that stretched toward the sky, while the building's entrance was inlaid with solid silver, representing the evolution of the financial district through time.

The grips and trigger of the Wall Street pistol were remarkable features—they had been crafted from shredded $100 bills, sourced directly from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. This unique touch created a tangible connection to American currency, underscoring the intrinsic relationship between money and Wall Street’s legacy.

The custom case that housed the Wall Street pistol was a work of art in its own right. Constructed from matchbooked Myrtle Wood Burl, the case featured exterior voids filled with currency, and both sides of the case were carved to resemble the New York Stock Exchange building, offering a powerful visual link to the world of finance. The interior was fully lined with currency, totaling $92 in value—significant due to the year 1792, which marked a pivotal moment in Wall Street’s history.
