FAQs

  • We recommend replacing the recoil spring on a Government 1911 every 2,000 rounds; on a Commander 1911 every 1,500 rounds; and on an Officer 1911, every 500 rounds.

  • On a Government frame, we recommend using a 19# weight for .45 ACP and a 17# weight for 9mm.
  • On a Commander frame, we recommend using a 21# weight for .45 ACP and an 18# weight for 9mm.
  • For our T4 model, we recommend an 18# weight, while a contoured carry cut 1911 in .45 ACP will take a 23# weight spring.
