Guns & Ammo Limited Edition
This limited-edition 1911 was the result of an extraordinary collaboration between Nighthawk Custom and Guns & Ammo Magazine, honoring the magazine’s historic partnerships with firearm manufacturers over the decades. Designed with input from Eric Poole, Editor of Guns & Ammo, Mark Stone, Nighthawk Custom Owner, and Richard Mann, gun writer, this pistol reflected Col. Jeff Cooper’s vision of the ideal 1911.
Key features of this exclusive model included a Commander-sized frame and slide, with rear cocking serrations only—a nod to Col. Cooper’s belief that hands should never be near the barrel’s end. The pistol also featured slotted grip screws, a hand-stippled front strap, and a smooth mainspring housing with a lanyard loop for added functionality. Finishing touches included a crowned barrel, a medium-length solid trigger, and custom Alumigrips engraved with the Nighthawk logo.
This collectible 1911 was limited to just 100 pistols, each sequentially numbered GA00001 through GA00100. It was as striking in a showcase as it was reliable in a holster. Adding to its exclusivity, every pistol came with a Letter of Authenticity signed by both Eric Poole and Mark Stone.
Not only did this 1911 embody craftsmanship and tradition, but it also supported a noble cause. 5% of each pistol’s sale price was donated to HAVA (Honored American Veterans Afield), an organization dedicated to helping veterans heal through shooting sports.
A true collector’s piece and a functional masterpiece, this signature 1911 was a celebration of history, design, and purpose.
