Hammered Damascus Mammoth Tooth Chef's Kitchen Knife
This Damascus Santoku was made in Seki City, Japan-which is located in the middle of Japan. Seki City has produced cutlery edged tools, knives, kitchen cutlery and most famously, Samurai Swords for over 780 years.
Tsuchi-me is the traditional name for "hammered" in Japanese. This refers to the hammered finish of the polished blade which creates a series of hollow ground cavities, reducing drag when cutting, as well as quickly releasing food from the blade. The blade construction has many advantages in durability and outstanding sharpness, enabling longer edge retention, and adds a stunning visual effect as well.
Santoko in Japanese means "Knife of Three Virtues", referring to its versatility. Thus, can be used for fish, meat, and vegetables. Your Santoku is the perfect all-purpose knife for your kitchen. The Hammered Damascus Santoku is made from a core steel of VG1O, sandwiched between 16 layers on either side of 410 stainless steel and 430 stainless steel.
Damascus Steel
Damascus Steel is characterized by it’s strength, edge holding ability, and it’s dramatic appearance. The Damascus Steel used in these knives comes from Japan and is called “Sanmai Damascus” or Sandwich Damascus. There is a core of vg-10 steel with 16 layers of stainless steel on each side to produce a rust free Damascus look blade.Woolly Mammoth Tooth
