When we first
opened for business, the finish
we used was the polymer based
finish that is still used by
other 1911 manufacturers today.
The result was that our products
looked like everything else you
see. We were never
completely happy with it because
that type of
finish has a sheen to it.
After trying
several others we came up with
our own Perma Kote™. It is by
far a superior finish compared
to any we have seen, including
the newest generations of
polymer finishes. It withstood
5,000 hours of both saltwater
immersion, and salt water spray
at 40 psi. It also has a wear
life of three times what the
polymer finishes do. Perma Kote™
has the smooth matte look that
appeals to so many shooters
today. The only down side that
we could find was that it costs
four times as much to use as the
polymer based finish does, which
explains why you don't see it on
our competitor's products.
Perma Kote™
comes in a variety of colors and
is the standard finish we use on
all of our products, including
1911s, shotguns and rifles. When
you place your order, you can
mix or match any color
combination you choose. As you
view our listings, you will
probably notice our new Digicam
finish, which is made using a
combination of different colors
of Perma Kote™.
Perma Kote™
colors include Black, Sniper
Gray, Titanium Blue, Desert Tan
and OD Green. Any of these
colors, combined with a black
slide on a 1911 for example,
make a very attractive pistol.
If you prefer just one color on
your firearm then most any of
these will work. We have several
customers that prefer the Sniper
Gray, OD Green, or Desert Tan on
their shotguns. Others have
wanted their 1911 in Titanium
Blue (such as the Lady Hawk), OD
Green, or Sniper Gray. With the
right grip color they make a
unique and very attractive
firearm.
