First
Inspection, Assembly and Test
Fire
|
Once
your gun has Perma Kote™
applied, each part is
gone over again to make
sure the finish is done
perfectly. Once Robert
is satisfied that it is,
he then forwards it to
Rodney (top right) for
assembly and test fire.
After the assembly is
complete, it’s time to
head to the range for
the afternoon.
Rodney (top right) is
seen here right after he
has assembled a GRP.
Before he heads to the
range, he will load and
drop an empty magazine
over and over to make
sure it drops free of
the gun when the mag
release is pushed in. He
also puts an empty
magazine in and pulls
the slide back over and
over, to make sure it’s
locking back when the
magazine is empty. If
needed, he can make some
minor adjustments before
heading out.
Test fire doesn’t have
to be boring. Here
Rodney (right) utilizes
the solid steel target
stand we make to have a
little fun by cutting
two pieces of cardboard
to simulate a hostage
situation. Notice how
accurate he is at 15
yards. Just wait until
you see your test target
that will come with your
gun!

All
of our guns go through a
stringent test fire
before they leave the
building. They have a
minimum of 75 rounds
shot through them before
they are sighted in and
the test target is shot.
The magazines are loaded
and the gun is fired
with 1, 2, 3 rounds and
so on, to make sure the
gun feeds flawlessly
through each stage and
the slide locks back
every time once the last
round is fired. Each gun
is tested with various
kinds of ammunition. We
make sure that every gun
has flawlessly fired
some type of hard ball,
hollow points and semi-wadcutters.
This translates into
confidence for you,
since you know your gun
has passed all the
stages of test fire
before you receive it. A
test target is included
with a 3-shot group on
every gun we ship.
Our
guns will feed almost
any type of ammunition.
The manual that comes
with each gun will let
you know what is not
recommended for
reliability. Keep in
mind, no more than you
would put leaded gas in
a new Corvette, should
you feed cheap ammo
through a
high-performance custom
handgun. |
